One Very Amazing Night a fairy tale for Christmas by James Clarke toured to schools and community centres throughout the West Midlands and surrounding counties, Saturday 9th December – Saturday 23rd December 2006.

Katie is desperate to go and see the big city. She gets on a bus and travels into the town which is mesmerizing. Katie is enthralled. She feels that she has found the best place in the world, a place where the sounds of the city and people rushing around as they Christmas shop are the best things ever.

In her wonder at the scale, sounds and colours of the city, Katie loses track of time. She finds her self stranded in the city, initially terrified. Far from home, and with no way back it seems, Katie is then befriended by characters who only become themselves at night. She learns from them that a bright star in the Christmas sky has been stolen and needs to be found.

Katie and her new friends embark on a magical adventure across the city to recover the star and return it to the sky. On her way she encounters good and bad including the Screecher Creatures. These are night time beasts of the city who haunt, taunt and spook the city streets.

Katie returns the star to the sky and Christmas morning begins to dawn!
