In our 25th year we are setting up Friends of Rage Arts to allow us to continue carrying out and developing the work of our charity.
We are looking for individual and organisations to join the scheme and sign up to make an annual payment.
Rage Arts is a registered charity and an arts organisation.
This is what we do:-
and why we do it.
We create productions using film, theatre and music and give others the opportunity to do the same.
Through taking part in these projects participants increase their self-esteem and self-confidence and gain skills to help them take the next step in their life whether that's in education, to return to education, seek employment or take the next step in their careers.
We predominantly work with those who are or are in danger of becoming socially excluded.
We run drama workshops actively involving children aged 4 to 11 in creating an exciting show which resonates with our young audience because they have been part of creating it. We tour each year to 3,000 children and their families throughout the West Midlands and surrounding counties.
We take the theatre and workshops to schools and community venues so as to remove the transport cost and give children the chance to see theatre in a setting they are familiar with.
We subsidise the cost of our services in order to make them affordable to as many people as possible.
We provide work for professional artistes and we assist organisations with their productions.
We have a base in Birmingham and we are also looking to carry out work in the Scottish Borders.
We are seeking to raise an additional £5,000 each year to enable us to continue and develop our work each year.
What would £5000 enable us to do?
Christmas Tour & Workshops for Primary school aged children This would enable us to continue introducing young children to the arts through workshops and our annual tour. We had to postpone our 2020 production a new show based on ETA Hoffmann’s original story The Nutcracker until 2021 because of Covid19.
We are looking to run The Song Writing Challenge giving children the chance to write the lyrics for the songs for the show which a professional composer will compose the music for.
Giving a group the chance to work with a professional crew to make their own film, like the Hidden Faces Film.
To develop another tour and workshop programme.
We were fortunate to secure Arts Council Funding and other funding that enabled us
to meet our Core Operational costs from March until the end of October 2020.
We created digital activity packs with things for children to do and discover whilst they were off school during the first part of the CovId19 Pandemic.
We are looking to find 25 friends by Christmas and raise at least £625 more when gift-aid is added this will pay our rates bill for 3 months.
We’d very much like to ask you to become a Friend of Rage Arts and be part of developing our work now and in the future by signing up to make a donation each year.
We'd like everyone who wants to be a friend to feel that they can! So whether you can donate £5 or more wed love to have you as a Friend change the amount in the box to what you can afford.
We would love to hear if you can help in other ways as well!
We will keep in touch with you via email and let you know of how we're getting on and what we’re doing.
If at any point you’d like to stop being a friend then all you need to do is email us. If you want to change the amount then contact us and we will stop your current subscription and you can sign up with the new amount.
